A quick post today to remember British photographer Brian Duffy who died last week aged 76.
From Duffy’s website: “On Monday 31 May 2010 we lost one of the greatest anarchic, creative and dynamic minds of our time. After many months of fighting a degenerative lung condition, Duffy lost his fight.”
Duffy shot the famous Aladdin Zane cover for David Bowie in the 1970s and was a contemporary of both David Bailey and Terence Donovan. In 1979 he set fire to his negatives – the surviving ones were exhibited last year at the Chris Beetles Gallery. The trio hailed from working class backgrounds, helped define the look of the 1960s, and were dubbed the Black Trinity, see link.
